Online Safety

What do we want parents to know about online safety? Written by Year 5/6

E-Safety forms an important part of the Computing curriculum. The Computing Lead Teacher is CEOP trained to deliver high quality e-safety training. All pupils receive discrete lessons in e-safety, and it is revisited regularly throughout the year. Visits from our local CEOP trained PCSO enhances the pupils learning.

Parents are included in this training with parent sessions, newsletters and information on the VLE.

A great website from NSPCC ‘Net Aware’ gives an insight into over 50 social media and games sites. Easy to read and understand.

At the start of the Autumn Term every pupil took home a poster they had designed in e-safety lessons, which explained how to stay safe online – the ideas were relevant to that age group. They were encouraged to discuss the ideas with their parents.
